Accessibility
We want every child and every grown-up to be able to use what we make. This page says what we do, what we have not done yet, and how to tell us when something gets in the way.
This website
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. In practice that means:
- Keyboard. Every link and control can be reached and used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline. A "skip to content" link is the first thing on every page.
- Text. Body text is at least 16 px, lines are short, and text can be resized to 200 percent without losing content. Colour contrast between text and background meets AA.
- Headings and structure. Pages use real headings in order, lists for lists, and one
h1per page, so screen readers can move around them. - Images. Every meaningful image has alternative text. Decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them.
- Video. Released songs are embedded with YouTube's standard controls, which support captions. Our lyrics appear on screen inside every video and are repeated in full as text on each song page, so you can read them without the player.
- Motion. Nothing on this site flashes or autoplays with sound. Animations respect your browser's "reduce motion" setting.
- Language. Pages declare their language, and Hindi text is marked as Hindi so screen readers pronounce it correctly.
- Plain words. We write short sentences and explain terms. The children's privacy page is written for children to read.
Our songs
- Lyrics on screen in large, high-contrast text, with Hindi songs showing Devanagari and a Latin transliteration.
- No flashing. Every light change takes at least half a second. Tara's glow pulses no faster than once every 1.5 seconds. Each render goes through an automated flash check before release.
- Calm pace and clear speech. Songs run at 96 to 112 beats per minute with one idea per line, which helps children who process language more slowly.
- Actions you can see. Each action is shown by a character one beat before the child does it, and is described in words on the song page, so a grown-up can guide a child who cannot see the screen.
- Sing-along without a screen. Lyric sheets for every song are free on the printables page.
Our books and printables
- Thick outlines and one picture per page for children still building hand control, and for children with low vision.
- Blank backs so there is no show-through.
- Large print text in a clear sans-serif face.
- PDF printables are tagged where our tools allow and are designed to print at A4 or US Letter.
What we have not done yet
We are a small, new studio and we would rather tell you than pretend:
- Our videos do not yet have audio description. The on-screen action is also described in words on each song page.
- Our printables do not yet come in a high-contrast or large-print variant. We plan to add them.
- Our Hindi content has not yet been reviewed by a native speaker, and some screen readers pronounce Devanagari imperfectly.
- We have not yet had an independent accessibility audit of this site.
Tell us about a barrier
If you or your child cannot use something on this site, in a video or in a book, email [email protected] with the page or song and what happened. We will reply within ten working days and, where we can, fix it. We treat accessibility reports the same way we treat safety reports: they go to the top of the list.
