Licensing and permissions

We want our songs and printables to be used, so most everyday uses are already allowed. This page says what is free, what needs permission, and how to ask.

Free, no permission needed

Watching and playing our videos. Play our YouTube videos at home, in a classroom, nursery, library story time, clinic waiting room or community hall. Playing from YouTube is covered by YouTube's own terms; you need nothing from us. Please play from YouTube rather than downloading, so the video stays current if we correct something.

Printing our free printables. Everything on the printables page is free for:

• personal use at home;
• classrooms, nurseries, preschools and home-schooling;
• public libraries, hospitals, clinics and therapy practices;
• non-profit community groups.

You may print as many copies as you need for the children you look after or teach, and teachers may photocopy a printable for their whole class. Keep our name on the page.

Singing our songs. Sing them in class, at a party, in a school assembly. Teach the actions. Record your class singing along for your own families to see.

Sharing links. Link to any page of this site or any of our videos. Embed our YouTube videos on a school or library website using YouTube's share button.

Press. Use the logos, mascot renders and character images in our brand kit to illustrate a story about KUDIMI, unaltered and with credit to KUDIMI Studios.

Please ask first

Email [email protected] before you:

• sell anything that includes our characters, songs, art or printables, or bundle our printables into a paid pack, course or subscription;
• re-host our printable PDFs or videos on another website or app (link to us instead);
• put our characters on merchandise, posters, event banners or fundraising materials;
• use our music or lyrics in your own video, app, game, podcast or performance that is recorded or broadcast;
• translate, adapt or re-record our songs or stories;
• use our characters in your school's or organisation's branding;
• include our content in a paid curriculum, a textbook or an edtech product;
• use our materials in advertising of any kind.

We answer quickly and we say yes to a lot of it, especially for schools and non-profits. We may ask for credit, a link, or a short written agreement.

Never

• Copying our characters, melodies or lyrics and presenting them as your own.
• Using our characters or name to suggest we endorse a product, service or opinion.
• Using our content in anything addressed to children that collects their data or advertises to them.
• Training or feeding automated systems with our content without written permission.

Schools and nurseries

Everything in "Free, no permission needed" applies to you. If you would like a class set of a book, a lyric pack for a whole school, or a short note from the studio for a school project about how animated songs are made, write to us. We are happy to help with projects that show children how a song is built.

Libraries

Story-time use of our videos and printables is free. If you would like printed copies of our books for your shelves, they are available through Amazon KDP marketplaces and, in India, through Pothi and Amazon.in. Library discount requests go to those retailers.

Our press page has a boilerplate, facts and the brand kit. For interviews or quotes, email us.

Partners, broadcasters and platforms

We are open to distribution, dubbing, licensing and co-production conversations that keep our standards: no data collection from children, no advertising to children inside our content, Made for Kids classification where applicable, and quality that passes our own release gate. Email with a short description of your platform, your audience and what you have in mind.

Public domain material

A few of our videos and books are based on traditional nursery rhymes whose words and tunes are in the public domain. You are free to use those traditional words and tunes yourself; they are not ours. Our arrangement, animation, characters, staging and illustrations of them are original KUDIMI works and are covered by the rules above.
